Chief Executive Officer

“I believe an AED should be available to everyone, without barriers. The easier we make access to life-saving technology, the more lives we can save together.”

How did you end up at Medisol?

I joined Medisol in 2012, driven by my interest in cardiology, technology and commerce. What started as a role focused on helping customers find the right AED grew into a journey through many parts of the organisation.

One of the things I value most about Medisol is the opportunity to grow. I have experienced that growth myself, progressing through different roles before becoming CEO. It is equally rewarding to see many colleagues within our passionate team follow similar development paths and take on new challenges.

Over the years, I have had the privilege of helping make AEDs more accessible, moving them beyond traditional medical environments and into homes, businesses, sports clubs and public spaces across Europe.

What is your role at Medisol?

As CEO of Medisol, I am responsible for the overall direction and growth of the company. My role is to ensure that our teams, partners and processes work together effectively to achieve our mission: making AEDs accessible to everyone.

In addition to my role at Medisol, I serve as COO of Safe Life Europe. Together with colleagues across the Safe Life Group, I help coordinate and optimise European operations, including logistics, procurement, quality management and AED service activities. This close collaboration enables us to share expertise, create efficiencies and continuously improve the experience for our customers.

Since becoming part of the Safe Life Group, we have moved even closer to our goal. By working together with experts across different countries and continents, we can share knowledge, expertise and best practices. Together, we learn more, innovate faster and create better solutions for our customers.

Within the group, Medisol focuses strongly on sales, advice and customer experience for both online and direct sales channels. Operational activities such as logistics, AED service, procurement and quality management are coordinated through Safe Life Europe B.V., which is located in the same building as Medisol and supports the European companies within the Safe Life Group.

On a typical day, I work closely with stakeholders across Medisol, Safe Life Europe and the wider Safe Life organisation. I also maintain regular contact with AED manufacturers and industry partners. Together with our teams, I enjoy finding solutions that allow everyone to focus on what they do best: getting the right AED to the right customer, whether through purchase or rental.

What does an average day at Medisol look like?

No day is the same. On an average day, I speak with colleagues from Medisol, stakeholders across the Safe Life Group and AED manufacturers. Topics range from strategy and innovation to customer needs, product developments and operational improvements.

What I enjoy most is working with different teams to solve challenges and create smarter ways of working. Ultimately, all those conversations contribute to the same goal: making it easier for customers to get the right AED and keep it ready for use.

What drives you? Why do you do this job?

Most medical devices are designed to be used by specialists. An AED is different. It is one of the few life-saving medical devices that can be used by anyone.

That is what motivates me every day. I want to remove barriers and make AEDs available to as many people as possible. Whether through innovation, education, service or accessibility, every improvement brings us closer to our ultimate goal: by 2030 everyone has access to an AED within 6 minutes.

What result that you have achieved at Medisol are you proud of?

The growth of Medisol and the strong team we have built together. Seeing colleagues develop, take ownership and contribute to our shared mission is something I am incredibly proud of.

I am also proud of the impact we have made in increasing AED accessibility across Europe and of the partnerships that allow us to continue expanding that impact.

What makes it so much fun to work at Medisol?

The people. We have a passionate team, a strong sense of purpose and a dynamic international environment where no day is ever the same.

Knowing that our work can ultimately help save lives makes every challenge worthwhile.
